Jon Card has written for The Guardian, Daily Telegraph and The Times for over 15 years. His hundreds of articles focus on entrepreneurs, businesses and the big issues they face.

Now, Jon lifts the lid on how the media selects stories for publication and how you, too, can get press and publicity for your business.

In his role as a business journalist, Jon has interviewed over 1000 entrepreneurs and business leaders, from Silicon Valley tech giants and Dragons’ Den investors to the heads of major brands and high street heroes. His list of interviewees makes for a veritable ‘who’s who’ of the entrepreneurial world, including Martha Lane Fox, Brent Hoberman, Richard Reed, Mary Portas, Duncan Bannatyne, Gary Vaynerchuk, Michael Birch, Oli Barrett, Carl Reader, Chrissie Rucker and many more.

Jon found himself being quizzed by more and more entrepreneurs about the press, the role of journalists and how they, too, could get publicity for their businesses. He realised there was a huge desire among business leaders to learn more about the media and that his experience as a journalist was a gold mine for this audience.

So Jon decided to reverse engineer everything he knew about the press, journalism and entrepreneurial stories and has created a series of engaging and thought-provoking lectures, designed specifically for business audiences.

Jon draws on years of experience interviewing entrepreneurs and discussions with Fleet Street editors, as well as his own personal success of having his work published by national newspapers and magazines.

He reveals time-honoured storytelling techniques used by Oscar-winning film directors, PR gurus, savvy business leaders and successful politicians to capture the attention and imagination of audiences. He also delves into the media strategies used by successful entrepreneurs such as Richard Branson, Anita Roddick, Innocent Drinks and Brewdog.

Jon takes great pride and pleasure in revealing the inner workings of the media. He provides highly instructive and actionable advice to business leaders on how to gain press and publicity for their organisations, addressing key topics such as:

  • Why some businesses gain more publicity than others

  • What all famous entrepreneurs have in common

  • And, ultimately, How to make your company famous

Jon has trained hundreds of entrepreneurs and businesses owners through his events and media advisory services.

His mission is to ‘make entrepreneurs famous’ through
